Privacy policy
Last updated: 30 October 2026
This policy explains what data is collected when you read the Dietary Insight Blog (blog.simplerlivez.com), why, and what choices you have. The blog is run by SimplerLivez, based in Harrogate, United Kingdom, which is the data controller for this website.
The Dietary Insight app has its own privacy policy, which you can read in the app or on its store page.
What we collect
We don’t ask you to create an account, and the blog has no forms. We only collect:
- Server logs. Our hosting provider (Hostinger) automatically records technical details when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, the page you asked for and the time. These are used to keep the site secure and working, and are deleted on the provider’s normal schedule.
- Cookies and similar technologies, described below.
We never ask for, or knowingly collect, health information on this blog.
Cookies and advertising
To help cover the cost of running the blog, we may show ads provided by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies to show ads, measure them and, if you agree, personalise them based on your visits to this and other websites.
When ads are switched on, you will see a consent message on your first visit. You can:
- accept personalised ads,
- choose non-personalised ads only, or
- manage your choices at any time using the “Privacy and cookie settings” link the message provides.
Find out how Google uses data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and manage ad personalisation at adssettings.google.com.
Fonts
Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts. This means your browser connects to Google’s servers, which receive your IP address. Google says it doesn’t use this data to build profiles or target ads.
Links to other sites
Articles link to sources such as the NHS and Diabetes UK, and to the App Store and Google Play. Those sites have their own privacy policies.
Our legal basis
- Server logs and essential site operation: our legitimate interest in running a secure website.
- Advertising cookies: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to withdraw consent. To use any of these rights, contact us through simplerlivez.com.
If you’re unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
We’ll update this page if anything changes, and change the date at the top.
